Course Feed Back 

This weeks training provided me with the knowledge and practical skills, and the instructors knowledge and methods during this course was second to none. 

The instructors are world class and spend quality time with you to enhance your knowledge by sharing their experience.

I would highly recommend this course at a national level, the only area I would flag it was only for one week.

 Hopefully in the future if they were to deliver the course again, I would suggest it should be for two solid weeks, this would ensure the students have the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to an incident.

Good afternoon, my name is Sidney Carlson Sub-Officer of the Cayman Islands Fire Service. I have been employed with the fire service for twenty-seven years and attended various training sessions over the years. I am honoured to have the opportunity to meet and train with instructors Mr. Ian Duckworth and Jon Crawley on their training for Hazmat Instructor training course.

I attended a previous course held by Mr. Ian and Jon on Hazardous Materials First Responders Course in November 2023. Their knowledge and experience were demonstrated with professionalism and commitment to training others. Personally, I have used the training received on various occasions with confidence both on and off the job. My awareness and knowledge continue to expand, allowing me to be more conscious and alert to my surroundings.  I have recently completed the current Hazmat Instructor Course which has allowed me to continue my growth with the Cayman Islands Fire Service on April 22-26, 2024. This course allows me to continue hazmat training with both co-workers and other agencies through the Fire service training unit.

I genuinely appreciated every moment of the course with the entire crew which consisted of a multi-agency formation.  I would like to continue further training sessions in these settings for various subjects to strengthen the unit of a multi-agency response. I believe the more we know as a group, the harder we will strive to achieve one common goal. The more we know we will be able to protect ourselves, the people, our community, and our Country. With that said, I Thank you for honouring us with your presence, knowledge, experience, laughter, and amusement. I had an exciting time and look forward to furthering training with you.

Hazmat Instructor course feedback

This week of training has been full of various learning experiences, which I am very thankful I got the opportunity to be a part of, and I'm very excited to share what was taught with my peers and future recruits within our organization. 

Ian and Jon were awesome instructors, taking the time to ensure each student understood what was being taught and equipping them to deliver confidently their assigned topics, to the class.

Each day on this course we faced various challenges, which they took the opportunity to teach us how to be fluid in our situation and use it to our advantage by adapting to our environment. 

Constructively, it is challenging to find anything to critique them on, as it is clearly evident that they are highly experienced subject matter experts, in their respective roles. 

Once again I can honestly say that I have had a great week of training with them and fellow comrades from the various interagency departments, and look forward to the next training course with them all.

Feedback for Hazardous Materials Instructor course, April 2024

The course met all its learning objectives and the structure and pace of the course was pitched at the correct level for the ability of the delegates.

The knowledge and experience of the instructors Ian Duckworth and Jon Crawley was evident and they were able to fully explain a complicated subject to delegates most of whom had limited previous experience of Hazardous Materials incidents using many practical examples of their own.

The classroom presentations enabled the delegates to research a subject and deliver training to an audience in a supportive environment with quality feedback from the instructors and peers.

All practical exercises were fully supervised with delegates gaining an opportunity to prepare lesson plans, risk assessments and other materials required to fully prepare to deliver a safe practical  training and deliver constructive feedback to peers.

A very informative and enjoyable course delivered by knowledgeable and personable instructors, well done.

Excellent training and very informative for fire safety.

We contacted Ian to run a Fire Marshal training course onsite for our own Fire Marshals, and everyone found it very informative and engaging. Ian was a good trainer and everyone passed with the level 2 certificate in fire safety.

I would recommend Ian to any business looking to train their Fire Marshals, and definitely use him for our refresher courses.
